A special class at Zuiho Elementary School, Owariasahi City, Aichi Prefecture

On December 19th, a special class was held for 5th graders at Owariasahi City Zuiho Elementary School to learn about the Kingdom of Tonga, learn about the SDGs, and think about what we can do now to protect the future of our planet. NPO President Latu introduced Tonga’s costumes, food, sports, dance, and the volcanic eruption disaster that occurred in January, 2022, and answered questions from the children. President Fukagawa of the JICA Overseas Cooperation Volunteers Tonga OV Association explained changes in the environment surrounding the earth, such as the earth’s surface temperature in 2100 and its impact on the land area of ​​the Japanese archipelago. The children thought and presented about what they can do now to protect the future of the Earth. Owariasahi City selected Tonga as a friendship partner at the 2005 Aichi Expo, and a special class was planned.
