「A special class at Shibukawa Elementary School, Owariasahi City, Aichi Prefecture」

On February 4th, a Tonga learning program was held for second graders at Shibukawa Elementary School in Owariasahi City. The purpose is to learn about diversity while enjoying Tongan music and collaborative performances. The lecturer was Ms. Kaori Onoue, who taught music in Tonga as a member of the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers. She introduced her experience in Tonga and the Tongan food, clothing, and houses and schools through photos and videos, and performed Tongan music on the violin. The students enjoyed a collaborative performance on the sara-daiko drums.
